Understanding Addiction

August 13, 2009

As I understand addiction, the first step is to admit that you have a problem. The problem with addiction is that the person cannot control their compulsion.Overcoming addiction recognizes past mistakes. It encourages you to learn from your mistakes. It allows you to repair the errors of your past.

There is a process to recovery. It can be a long, difficult process.
It is the addict's responsibility to help others recover from their addiction.

(Y'all? I have 38 pairs of sandal/flip flops. If that's not a cry for help, I don't know what is.)

Yes, I would say you do have a problem! And getting the shoes in two different colors! Very cute! Love the picture of your kids on their first day of school. Mine start on the 26th. I'm looking forward to it as well! Enjoy!

LiANNE!!!! Do you know that I own 6 pairs of shoes! S-I-X!!!!!!!!!

I totally hit the far end of the spectrum. I have a solution for you though. You need to bring at least 15 pairs of those to my upcoming yard sale.

I could say something here, but knowing I have seventeen softball bats in the closet bars me from doing so.

SHOES!!

I love shoes. The only reason I don't have a closet full is because the stores never have my size. *sigh*

Yow-Za! My one pair of flip flops broke during VBS in July and I haven't replaced them yet (though I need to). Girl.. that is serious. I think you need to have a sandal-purge and a moratorium on buying anymore footwear for the time being. Be empowered! :)

Wow...well, the first step is admitting that you have a problem.

And the second step is going to buy something to cheer yourself up after realizing that you have a problem!

If you're not careful someone will submit you for that new show "The Hoarders". LOL

Its just bad that we have such mild weather and can get away with wearing flip flops year round LOL

that is so funny....now I won't feel so bad when I buy another pair of shoes. Let's start a support group! I love shoes--cute, use-to-be cute, comfortable, ones that hurt but are seriously cute, and everything in between.

I dunno...I think you may need more sandals. You're not even close to Imelda status yet.

I hate to tell you there is no hope for you.....it's a family thing. My girls and I are bad but my mother is worse! I know because when she moved she had to use one of those U-Haul packing boxes (the big one) and she still had shoes!

Love you
